Micro needling also called collagen induction therapy organically stimulates the skin’s natural ability to repair itself. As we age the natural architecture of our skin deteriorates. This deterioration leads to fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, and uneven skin texture.
The device we use at Touch of Glamour is called SkinPen which comfortably creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin to trigger the body’s natural wound healing process. This process results in the formation and remodelling of collagen, which supports the underlying tissue.
The result is more youthful, smoother and tighter looking skin, softening lines, wrinkles, scar tissue and pigmentation.
The number of treatments required depends on your skin condition & the concerns we are treating. For someone looking to plump and add luminosity to their skin, it could be used as a one-off treatment but 3 treatments, with 4-6-week intervals will give longer term results particularly if you are treating deep lines, a more mature skin, pigmentation or scarring. A course of 6 treatments is generally recommend for scarring. Maintenance treatments can be carried out every 8-10 weeks or as desired.
